DJ Lucid (Mathew Hornbeek) strives to be anything but the usual. He finds satisfaction only with rhythmic compositions lesser known and slightly obscure. The unusual is Lucid and Lucid is unusual. While Lucid shows preference to the house genres of deep-tech and minimal, he scours the frequency spectrums for tracks containing the greatest oddities of sound to stimulate curiosity. A mix is nothing special unless it provokes you into a liberated state of mind and opens the doors to perception in spaces from the bedroom to the stage.
Lucid has gladly opened for (an odd combination of) live acts such as Sum 41, Goldfish, BoomBox, Rey Fresco, Electric Valentine, Ambrose, Sam Marquart, K.O., Bone Thugs N’ Harmony, and many others.
